Audio Conferencing

Service Description 

This service includes support for the following:

  • Provide technology that connects multiple callers together.

There are two different types of audio conferencing:

  1. Desk telephone on-campus already has the ability to conference up to 6 users*.
  2. Meet Me Conferencing is a service which requires scheduling through the IT Service Desk and IT Telecommunications teams. It is a one number that all participants can dial. Participants can be part of the conference once they enter an access code that consists of 6 digits. Up to 6 attendees can participate in a voice conference. 

Charges incurred on the phone line for calling internal or external numbers will be the end-user responsibility.

*This feature available for IP phones and Digital phones only with built in conference button.
 

Activities included

  • Provide a standard audio conferencing device.
  • Provide Physical Connectivity.
  • Provide available Extension Numbers.
  • Line Configuration and testing dial tone.

Activities Not included

  • Recording facility.
  • Specific conferencing devices or accessories.
Service Availability 

Sunday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00, Excluding the university holidays.

End-user training is available upon request.  More instructions on audio conferencing can be found at IT website.

How to Request the Service 

Clients are required to submit audio conferencing support requests via any of the IT Service Desk available options - See Further Information or Support.

How to Access the Service 

Audio Conferencing service is available to eligible client upon request and authorization.

Fees 

This service is provided to clients without any fees.

Appendix: 

Clients are eligible for the following support:

  • Dial Local, Domestic and International numbers*.
  • Provided phone number can be dialed directly ON/OFF campus bypassing our switchboard.
  • Extension Authorization Code to lock/unlock phone and dialing**.
  • Use Phone System basic features (Call Forward, Call Pickup, Conference Call, Placing a call on Hold, Speed dialing, Transfer Call)**.

* Head Department approval should be received to enable the Domestic and international dialing.
