This guide consists of two parts to help you purchase your book via Cengage.

Part I: Sign-in with iLearn on the WebAssign course, through the following steps:

Step 1: Login to ilearn.aus.edu.

Step 2: Click on the course that requires WebAssign.

Step 3: Under the course menu, on the left, click on WebAssign.

Step 4: If this is the first time you are using Cengage WebAssign, click on Create Account.

Step 5: A couple of fields will automatically be filled, do not change their value. Instead, fill out the missing information and click on Create Account.

How do I Download and Install Panopto for Windows?

Step 1: Using Google Chrome as your browser, go to ilearn.aus.edu and login with your AUS credentials

Step 2: Click on 'Videos' in the menu.

Step 3: On the landing page, click on 'Download Panopto' link under your name on the top-right corner (as indicated in red below).

*If you do not see the 'Download Panopto' link, please request the IT Service Desk to provide you with a Panopto account.

Step 4: Click on 'Download Panopto' on the pop-up.

Step 5: Click on 'panoptorecorder.exe' in the Downloads bar at the bottom of your browser (or through Downloads in Chrome) to start the installation process.

If you are using an AUS device, you will be asked to authorize the installation with an admin password.

A Proctor Guide to Coping with Lockdown Browser Issues

Case One:

1. When the error message shown in the figure below appears, there will be two option buttons:

CANCEL and LOGIN. Click on CANCEL and the student may resume the exam.

2. If the LOGIN button was clicked, the student will be presented with the standard iLearn login screen, but the student will be unable to log back in. A proctor must then:

a. Click on the “I” button.

b. Then click on the Proctor Options button.

c. Then enter the proctor’s exit password.

Final Exam Settings for Repondus Lockdown and Monitor (Faculty Information Sheet)

Introduction

This guide will walk faculty through setting up the Respondus Lockdown Browser and Monitor to allow on campus students to take the test with the Lockdown Browser but without the Monitor, while requiring remote students to take the same test with the Monitor engaged.

This guide assumes knowledge of deploying iLearn tests and working knowledge of how to use the Respondus Lockdown Browser.

How to add Bluepulse to an iLearn course.

Step 1: Log in to iLearn

Step 2: Under 'My Courses' on the iLearn home page, select the Course which requires Bluepulse. Example, "My_Course_Waseem".

Step 3: Click on the + sign, on the top left corner. Then, click on Course Link.

Step 4: Click on Browse.

Step 5: On the pop-up window, click on Tools. From the drop-down, click on Bluepulse.

Step 6: Enter a name for the tool which will show in the Course Menu. Ensure you have checked the box for 'Available to Users'. Then, click on Submit.

The Bluepulse tool link will now be visible on the Course Menu (as shown in the picture). To open the portal, simply click on the link!

How to safely log out from iLearn?

Please follow the steps below to safely log yourself out of iLearn:

Click on the log out icon on the upper left corner of your browser

On a new screen you will get two options. Click on the "End session and log out" button. If no action is taken, you will be automatically logged out after 120 seconds. You can also select "Continue SSO session" to go back to iLearn.

After you click the "End session and log out" button, you will get the confirmation message below. Click "End Session" to complete the log out process.

Once you end your session, it's advised that you close all your browser windows.

Part I: Test Room Specific Precautions

If you have scheduled an online test/exam, please do the following:

For a Computer Lab

Send an Email to [email protected] with a request to have an IT specialist prepare the Lab for the exam.

The IT specialist assigned will depend on where the exam will take place. Please see Appendix (i) for more details.

For a Classroom

Please bear in mind that for tests administered in the classroom, you will have to rely on the operability of the students’ laptops. You are advised to hold online examinations in a lab environment to safeguard against limitations inherent within our wireless networks. To make sure the test goes as smoothly as possible, request the students to pay a visit to the school’s laptop service center so that a consultant can do the following:

How to easily navigate iLearn - Global Navigation Menu

Global Navigation Menu

Once you have logged in to iLearn, the Global Navigation Menu is always located in the upper right-hand corner of the display. Clicking your name or selecting the small triangle activates a pull-down menu where shortcuts are provided. Next to the triangle may be a small number in a red square indicating that changes, notifications, and updates have been made in any of your courses since the last login.
